Pop-up Workshops

Life’s special moments deserve something made with love — and your own two hands. Our Popup Workshops are spontaneous, seasonal sessions that pop up around the moments that matter most. Think Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and more — each one a unique opportunity to create a truly personal, handcrafted ceramic gift or keepsake.

No experience needed. Just show up, get your hands dirty, and leave with something beautiful.

Keep an eye on our social media so you don’t miss the next one.

Mindfulness

Working with clay draws your full attention into the present moment — a natural, hands-on form of mindfulness.

Stress relief

The physical act of shaping clay releases tension and quiets a busy mind in a way screens and stillness simply can't.

Creative joy

You'll make something real with your own hands every session — a tangible, satisfying result that builds week by week.

Community

A warm, welcoming studio where regulars become friends. The weekly rhythm gives you something to look forward to.

What a session feels like

You arrive, pour yourself in, and leave the week behind. There’s no syllabus to follow, no test to pass. Kathy guides you gently — whether you’re centering clay on the wheel for the first time or refining a technique you’ve been working on for months.

Beginners are completely at home here. So are people who’ve been coming every week for years. The studio holds both, and Kathy has a gift for meeting each person exactly where they are.

The studio is calm and unhurried. Get your apron on, say hello, make a coffee and let the space do its work before you even touch the clay.

Kathy believes that everyone is on their own clay journey, so she teaches new techniques and moves between students — offering help when you want it, or space when you don’t.

Hand-building, wheel throwing, decorating with underglaze, coloured slip or coloured glazes — whatever you want for the session. Your creation reflects a real, physical progress on something you’ve made yourself.

Pieces are bisque fired, decorated & glazed, and finally glaze fired in electric or gas kilns as part of the ongoing class cycle — so your work comes to life week by week.

Why ceramics works

Therapeutic by nature

Ceramics is widely used in art therapy for good reason — the tactile, repetitive nature of working with clay is deeply regulating for the nervous system. Many students describe it as the one hour a week where their mind genuinely switches off.

A break from screens

No scrolling. No notifications. Just your hands, the clay, and the satisfying resistance of a material that pushes back. It's analogue in the best possible way.

A real working studio

KayBee isn't a paint-and-sip setup. It's a working ceramics factory and academy — which means the equipment, the materials, and the expertise are all the real thing. Your work is taken seriously because it is serious work.

Skills that build slowly

Ceramics rewards patience. Week by week, your hands learn. You'll notice the difference between your first piece and your tenth — and that quiet sense of growing ability is deeply satisfying.

Something just for you

For many students, this is the one slot in the week that belongs entirely to them. Not to work, not to family, not to obligations. Just to making something, slowly, with their hands.

Weekly rhythm

The recurring weekly structure gives you something to look forward to and a gentle sense of continuity. Regulars build a practice, not just a hobby — and many say it becomes one of the anchors of their week.
